Rick Umali was born in the Philippines in 1968 and moved to the United States at a young age. He was raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, and attended Catholic schools before graduating from Rensselaer in 1990. He moved to Boston and married Jenn in 1995. He has two brothers, Ron and Renato, and his parents live in New Jersey. Rick and Jenn live in Burlington (outside Boston) and have a daughter named Mia. He has been writing his blog, Rick's Ramblings, since 2001. He is the author of Learn Git in a Month of Lunches (Manning Publications). He works in computers.
